Andrew Paul Ferrarone, known to his friends as Andy, passed away on July 15, 2026, from injuries sustained in a rock climbing accident on July 12 in Big Bear, California. He was 33.
Andy was born on September 16, 1992, to Paul and Linda Ferrarone, alongside his triplet siblings Tom and Caroline. Andrew grew up in Philadelphia and later Peachtree Corners, Georgia where he graduated Norcross High School. In his 20s, he lived in San Francisco with his best friends, where he first met his wife Nina, before moving to Lake Tahoe, and then San Diego, which he considered home.
Andy was an accomplished and widely respected software engineer, known not only for his intelligence and talent, but for the care, patience, and thoughtfulness he brought to any of his endeavors. He was a hobbyist at the highest level, his talents ranging from rock climbing, snowboarding, tennis, photography, sailing, jazz piano, art and design, and even skydiving.
He was also known for his great cooking, his love of wine, and the warmth he brought to a table. Whether sharing a meal, spending time outdoors, or simply being present with the people he loved, Andy gave himself fully and sincerely.
Andy is survived by his loving wife Nina and their expected baby, his parents Paul and Linda; his triplet siblings Tom and Caroline, and his beloved German Shepherd, Rocco.
Funeral and memorial services will be held in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and San Diego, California, with details to be announced.
Andy will be remembered for his gentleness, his open-hearted generosity, and the lasting sense of love he gave to the people fortunate enough to know him.
